SUMMARY
Greetings,
I installed Akregator on my PinePhone (Manjaro Plasma mobile) both through the normal Flatpack and then manually using pacman and had the same outcome.  When starting Akregator it hangs with the CPU pegged. I also saw in top that mysql was running. I let it run for a few minutes to make sure it wasn't a setup action. The process had to be killed, then when restarted it says Akregator did  not shut down properly, restore, don't restore, etc. The CPU was still pegged at 100%.  I am willing to test since this is an unusual platform.  Thanks, Peter Jones

I can't really help you with Akregator, but have you checked out https://invent.kde.org/plasma-mobile/alligator ? It's a new Feed Reader app targeted towards Plasma Mobile and will likely work much better there
