Comment 5 David Edmundson 2021-05-05 21:34:12 UTC
I don't see where kwin would be involved in this.

Please test your firefox setup under openbox and confirm what happens.

bug doesn't happen

I couldn't use Openbox, SDDM always got frozen, so I tried another environment: the bug doesn't happen in Budgie.
Comment 7 Lua 2021-05-07 07:53:04 UTC
This also happens in Wayland.
Comment 8 twinshadows404 2021-05-17 11:08:46 UTC
I can confirm this under 88 and 90.0a1.

Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20210514
KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.90
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.82.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.12.3-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11

Do note that the new window has the maximum size, but it isn't maximized.
Changing status for inspection as per comment 6
