SUMMARY
Does not work after recent update.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.  spectacle --new-instance


OBSERVED RESULT

Spectacle runs.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Workaround:
sudo snap revert spectacle
spectacle reverted to 20.12.3
After this Spectacle works fine.

Unfortunately spectacle is no longer supported as a snap due changes and can no longer get it to work.
