Description medin 2021-04-30 21:25:28 UTC
The decision to use a combobox to hide (or embed) a category at time is not suitable, because a user may want to hide multiple categories and current chosen component is limited to only one choice.
The best way to represent it is to use multiple checkboxes that represent all shown categories (including radios categories).

Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.81.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.4.112-1-MANJARO
OS Type: 64-bit
Graphics Platform: X11

This feature is not really about hiding categories but rather embedding one of them in the sidebar; the fact that the embedded category is removed from the pages list is a side effect.

It sounds like you're looking for a generic method to hide unused categories.
