Description chibo 2021-04-30 03:26:19 UTC
it saves the whole clip instead of in-out zone
Comment 1 emohr 2021-04-30 16:29:15 UTC
Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 21.04.0 to see if there are any packaging issues https://download.kde.org/stable/kdenlive/21.04/linux/

If the problem/issue doesn't occur when using the AppImage, then it's your configuration or packaging.

the issue is still here (in appimage too)

What do you want is extract zone. Set in/out on the clip monitor -> right click -> extract zone. This generates a new clip as long as the in/out is set.

NO!

i want save part of my clip to project bin!!

extract zone is just weird useless thing instead of industrial standard - ripple delete(left/right), which is still missing in KDEnlive, but this is subject for another bug report
Comment 5 chibo 2021-05-01 07:56:00 UTC
*save not from Clip Monitor, but TIMELINE
Comment 6 emohr 2021-05-01 08:12:02 UTC
Yes, this is possible. Set in/out in the timeline -> right click on the clip -> Save timeline zone to bin. With shift+x you extract the clip and the gab gets closed.

turn off ad block or track block (it's yandex, you can trust)
Comment 10 emohr 2021-05-04 15:47:09 UTC
Now it's clear. "Save timeline zone to the bin" doesn't work anymore. As you said in first comment, it takes the whole clip lenght instead between IN/OUT point.
Comment 11 chibo 2021-05-05 15:18:17 UTC
would be nice to have this feature back
Comment 12 chibo 2021-05-05 15:24:31 UTC
or rename it at least, so much confusing..
Comment 13 Julius Künzel 2022-02-04 22:13:00 UTC
Thanks for the report and sorry for the late answer! I investigated in the source code and commit history. Based on this I can tell that the current behavior is correct (referring to the initial intention), but the name is indeed very confusing.
Comment 14 Julius Künzel 2022-02-04 22:27:01 UTC
Git commit 74b819f6b1c634fd5010e0ef0eaeb52e51212ece by Julius Künzel.

Fix action name: "Save Timeline Zone to Bin" is not what it does
