Created attachment 137974 [details] minimizeall option in screen edge settings SUMMARY Currently, the MinimizeAll option in Settings > Workspace Behavior > Screen Edge is only available if the KWin script is enabled, but this doesn't help too much in terms of feature discoverability. Also, Minimize All fit much more in Screen Edge settings than in KWin Script settings. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Activate KWin script in Window Management > KWin Scripts. OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Kubuntu 21.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Just to note, MinimizeAll works differently than "Show desktop", as the later restore all windows at the same time if you click in *any* app icon in the taskbar, I don't see what's the point of this honestly. Maybe MinimizeAll and "Show desktop" could be merged?
If you undo the "show desktop" screen edge restore, it will reopen the last window opened, even if you click in another icon in the taskbar, that's why I said that this makes no sense.
It seems more like we should just enable the Minimize All script by default. Shipping an off-by default script doesn't make much sense IMO. If we don't want to do that, I think we shouldn't ship it by default. Shipping off-by-default scripts by default doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Let's track issues with the effect itself in other bug reports.
It happens with other themes like Qogir, but not with Adwaita. That's so weird!
Oops, I commented on the wrong bug report!
It would be a great replacement for the minimize all windows widget (which doesn't truly minimize all windows, because as soon as you click in whatever item of the taskbar, all of them are restored at the same time). Also, the hot corner is much more practical than clicking in a button/icon.
