Description Freek de Kruijf 2021-04-26 12:01:03 UTC
SUMMARY
The file kstars.pot contains several items with hh:mm in the text. I got a complaint from an user, using ekos, that a start time appeared wrongly on the screen as uu:03. In Dutch all occurrences of this piece of text are translated in uu:mm, so, most likely, one or more of these pieces of text should not be translated. There is no indication in the .pot file about leaving this part untranslated or maybe even the the whole item should not be translated.

Another problem is the use of the term focus. The meaning can be "putting in a certain direction" or "adjust the focal point", which in Dutch should be translated differently. There is no context given about the meaning of this term.

Maybe dates are included in the translation strings. I'll check to see if there are only hh:mm occurances.

Maybe output of times should be done using library routines that output times in localized form. The idea of putting these in translatable items is to allow localized forms of presenting times. Anyway some comment about keeping hh:mm and alike untranslated is highly recommended.

I do not consider this to be a task for me. I leave it to the developers to act on this report and add comment on what not to translate. In this case I changed translated hh:mm to uu:mm back in hh:mm.
