STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Using Edna theme and transparency (maybe it happens without Edna also)
2. Opening this PDF, it doesn't seem to happen with other PDFs
3.

This would be an issue in the theme itself. You would want to contact its developer about it.

Left of the visible tabs should be the Thumbnails tab. So, I’d say, the blue stripe is the IndicatorTabTearLeft GUI primitive: https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qstyle.html#PrimitiveElement-enum . It could also be the intended result.
