SUMMARY Plasma's native panel misses Dock-like options and features : - colored panel with/without transparency (blur) - floating panel (height/margin from the side of the screen). - choose indicator type/shape (dot, line, square, circle, cross, triangle, or whatever with a specific image/icon), choose its color and shadow options. - shape of each corner (squared, rounded, curve scale/degree, edge width ...). - parabolic zoom effect to panel items, not just the taskbar icons (Kickmenu). - border width and color (thin, thick, specific value) - ... STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Plasma's native panel settings 2. Compare with Latte-dock settings and features 3. Compare with competitors docks settings OBSERVED RESULT The user can customize the panel but he is too limited to compare to competitors panels settings. EXPECTED RESULT The user is able to customize plasma's native panel with more settings for its look and feel and behavior. Main settings would allow to set a panel to look like most popular and famous panels / docks (Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, macOS, Gnome's dash to dock, ...). SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.11 / Plasma 5 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.21 KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The idea is to allow similar options and features of other docks in Plasma's own panel.
