SUMMARY Elisa appears to be blocking the display during playback of music. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Play some music in Elisa. OBSERVED RESULT The power applet shows that the application Elisa is inhibiting locking the screen and standby. That makes sense. Yet it also appears that the display is not blanked or put in energy saving mode. That does not make sense to me. EXPECTED RESULT Elisa prevents locking the screen and standby. Yet energy saving for the laptop display works as expected. Blanking the display is not blocked when using Clementine which does not appear to use the inhibit functionality. Created attachment 137699 [details] elisa supresses power management I can confirm this. The power management widget states: "elisa is currently suppressing power management: playing music" This is preventing the session from locking and screen saver to start, but does not seem to interfere with screen going blank. elisa 20.04.2 Plasma 5.18.6 kernel 5.3.18
Hmmm, interesting. I had the laptop not let the screen go dark during playing music, but maybe that has been some special circumstance. I will check whether this happens again and reopen if so.
