SUMMARY
If I view an article in the sidebar and the article contains links, clicking on the links (either left- or middle-click) does not open the link. In 'Settings > Configure Akregator > Browser', I have configured both left- and middle-click to open in external browser.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. View any article in the sidebar.
2. Left-click or middle-click on a link in the article (this should not be the link to the full version of the article or the link to the homepage; see attached screenshot for description of which links do and do not work).

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens after clicking on the link

EXPECTED RESULT
The link should open in an external browser or in a tab according to the user's configuration.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Akregator: 5.16.90 beta (21.03.80) (this is the output of `akregator --version`)
Linux distro: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.11.12-arch1-1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am using the package from the kde-unstable repo [1]. In this package, the commit [2] is applied on top of the released source. The 'planet KDE' RSS feed [3] has many articles with links, which may be useful to reproduce this bug.

If I right-click on the links, I can see the 'open in tab' and open in external browser' options, and those work as expected. If I view articles in the internal browser (by opening in a tab), I can left- or middle-click on links in the article.

I was able to click on links with the version released as part of KDE Applications 20.12.3.

This is with akregator version '5.17.80 beta (21.08.0)' (this is the string in Help > About Akregator)
