Description Alex 2021-04-10 12:44:32 UTC
SUMMARY

When using kwin_x11 --replace all windows are assigned to "all activities"

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have some windows on different activities
2. Run kwin_x11 --replace

OBSERVED RESULT

All existing windows are assigned to "all activities"

EXPECTED RESULT

kwin could preserve the information about to which activity a window belongs, when replacing kwin with a new instance of kwin.

KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5

The same happens, when changing the window decoration style (does this restart kwin?)

One could think this is an edge case, but my workaround for Bug 435972 is to either use kwin_x11 --replace or change the window decoration to another one and then back to Plastik and then I need to re-assign activities every time.
