discover update needs a blacklist for packages the user do no want to upgrade anymore the update process works but invisible and with incorrect information, the progress gauge (left) goes to 49% and stays there while the package download gauges are hanging wherever the where, that may not be visible whith a few packages but a larger number the updater seems to be froozen, nothing happens until then suddenly out of nothing yhe screen goes blank and tells you up to date to get out of the dark it also would be nice having a screen showing what is being processed, something like synaptic has for example most likely your answer will be when you don't like it use pkcon but I hope you consider the suggestions
So if I understand correctly there's two issues: - allowing to pin packages to a version and stop them from upgrading. - improved progress reporting. Would you be able to open bug reports for each issue? It will make it much easier to discuss. Also pressing the Tasks item should give more information on the on-going task. Can you check that what you're after is also not there? Please reply in the specific ticket, maybe with a screenshot.
of course, no problem and since there are no upgrades actually I can not get a screenshot but I guess you've understand both issues, when the update runs I believe there is no task button splitted this to #435449 and #435450 thanks
