We applied over 3000 patches to add context definition for translators. The translators will need a while to update the translation again. This will only be more complete in digiKam-7.3.0. Maik
Hello, is there a possibility to get/download a "snapshot version"? Thanks in advance herb
of course, as explained in digikam.org download page... Look here : https://files.kde.org/digikam/ GilleS Caulier
Hello, @ Gilles: thanks for the link. But please let us come back to the translation problems in version 7.2.0. With the official release of v7.2.0 the menu "Eintrag" (item) has 19 elements: - 14 are displayed in English - 5 are displayed in German. Now I did the following test and took the official release digikam.po file and generated the corresponding digikam.mo file. Here I used the convert-tool available at po2mo.net. With this digikam.mo file for item "Eintrag" - 16 elements are displayed in German - 3 are displayed in English. Not only that more elements are in German, also German elements of official release are now in English. Strange! is'nt it? Best regards herb
It will take a while, precisely because there are very few German translators. digiKam is difficult to translate due to its photo-technical terms. By adding a context, we made the previous translation invalid. For the future, however, it will help translators to better classify the meaning of the text. Since I speak German natively, I plan to support the translators a little in the future when the translation code has moved to git. The translators are always looking for people who can help. Maik
