Created attachment 137113 [details] Latte Dock layout file SUMMARY Task manager animations seem to get really slow and laggy when opening/closing applications (usually when closing the last application). The task manager also seems to lock up for a few seconds too. This seems to get progressively worse when I have multiple panels and more widgets that animate. I have no idea what specifically is causing this, but it does only seem to occur when using the Task Manager widget. I'm using this in Latte Dock which seems to make the issue more noticeable (probably because it has animations for opacity, which makes the issue worse). I've linked to a video of the issue below, and attached my Latte dock layout file. To reliably reproduce the issue, you will need to enable the same widgets as me (this can be done using a KDE neon live USB too) I'm using the Git versions of Latte Dock (https://github.com/KDE/latte-dock) and the following widgets (also git versions): https://github.com/psifidotos/applet-window-buttons https://github.com/psifidotos/applet-window-title https://github.com/psifidotos/applet-window-appmenu STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable the attached layout file 2. Open and close some applications for a few minutes 3. Animations start to lag OBSERVED RESULT Laggy sliding animations in Task Manager EXPECTED RESULT Smooth animations in task manager SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon user edition (tested on unstable edition too, same issue occurs) KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Video of issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RnCDYk7bjY
Does this happen when you're not using Latte Dock and instead are using standard Plasma panels?
