Description Rajinder Yadav 2021-03-27 18:53:06 UTC
SUMMARY

I will be listening to music and randomly my BTR5 USB device will get dropped, when I look at the Pulse Audio volume control, in the "Output Device" or "Configuration" tab my device is no longer shown.

I then how to unplug and replug the device of turn it off then on for the detection to take place.

I notice this happen when I stop listing to a youtube video music and there is no audio playing for a while. The drop just happen randomly, during these quite times.

This was never a problem, before I raised a bug that the device would not be detected coming out of suspend, but it seems this was fixed and maybe something else broke in the process.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. listen to audio (music or video)
2. stop music or video
3. do not play audio for some time (USD DAC is inactive)
4. randomly after some time the USB device is no longer available

When you say "Pulse Audio volume control" are you looking in an app with that same name? Or in the Plasma "Audio Volume" applet? Or both and they both same the same thing?

Hi it's the system volume applet, I've attached a picture that show the device when it's detected correctly.
Comment 4 Nate Graham 2021-04-05 18:06:04 UTC
OK that's not a KDE app, it's a GTK app. Which tells me that the problem is deeper than any KDE code. I would recommend filing a bug with the PulseAudio developers at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/-/issues/

Thanks!
