Description Tom 2021-03-23 21:21:35 UTC
SUMMARY

Keyboard Shortcuts contain Ctrl-Ins twice. Once for alternative Copy and once for New Ledger Entry. I can delete the alternative but I cannot figure out how to save the corrected short cut scheme as Default.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open KMyMoney
2. Open Ledgers
3. Hit Ctrl-Ins

OBSERVED RESULT

The key sequence 'Ctrl+Ins' is ambiguous. Use 'Configure Shortcuts'
from the 'Settings' menu to solve the ambiguity.
No action will be triggered.

EXPECTED RESULT

New Ledger entry.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/PureOS

Have same problem on Kubuntu 20.04, in KMyMoney v5.0.8.

There is definitely something funny going on here. It took me multiple tries - using a combination of Settings/Configure Keyboard Shortcuts (note slight difference in name from the popup) and also System Settings, Keyboard Shortcuts. Removing Ctl-Ins from the latter, and re-adding Ctl-Ins to New (not sure why it isn't explicitly New Transaction) eventually worked.

However, I don't think this is a bug in KMM, I think it is an issue in the general Plasma handling of keyboard shortcuts. I'm going to leave open for now, in case someone can come up with a more definitive solution.

Does anyone still find this to be a problem. Possible duplicate bug 489260
