SUMMARY Translucency is disabled but task manager makes programs translucent. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Turn off translucency (novelty, but too problematic/distracting.) 2. Return/replace with a normal icon-and-text task manager. 3. Start other programs and hover over them. OBSERVED RESULT When you hover over a program's entry it makes all the rest translucent, and is extremely distracting and disorienting. EXPECTED RESULT Never do ANY translucency if it's disabled! SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Slackware 15a1 KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2
1. How did you turn off translucency? 2. Can you attach a picture or a video showing the problem?

I turned off translucency in system settings -> workspace behaviour -> desktop effects. I found another setting in task manager that stops making them translucent but shouldn't that be included in disabling the desktop effect?!
I think the fix was disable 'highlight windows when hovering over tasks'... strange way to highlight them... but maybe that resolves it again.
>'highlight windows when hovering over tasks'. This is what this effect is intended to do
