Description skoupad-bugzilla 2021-03-18 10:55:31 UTC
It used to work on previous versions, but in version 7.1.0 appimage when I press F4 to play a video to the external VLC player it tries to start but crashes VLC. If VLC is already running, it plays the video without problem. It only happens if digikam tries to start VLC and play a video that the VLC crashes.

In console it gives the following message:

"""
GLib-GIO-WARNING **: 12:25:30.652: /home/username/.local/share/applications/defaults.list contains a [Added Associations] group, but it is not permitted here. Only the non-desktop-specific mimeapps.list file may add or remove associations.
VLC media player 3.0.12 Vetinari (revision xxxxxxxxxxx)

With digiKam 7.2.0 pre release AppImage it seems to work.
