Created attachment 136654 [details] journald.log SUMMARY Random lag spikes and generally extremely slow responsiveness since update in new KDE 5.21 STEPS TO REPRODUCE It happens in the beginning of a move. Even it is a mouse cursor move (not a usb mouse, it's the laptops trackpad) or it is a window move (dragging a window). So in the beginning it's slow responsive and after some seconds it behaves fast and normal! PS: Have tried with all desktop effects disabled and compositor disabled as well and the problem still exists. Is there anything consuming high CPU cycles?
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Is there anything consuming high CPU cycles? Yes. If for instance I left click and hold pressed on desktop to draw the light blue highlighting and start moving around the cursor (while still holding the left mouse button clicked) then xorg and plasmashell process consuming about the 20% of CPU

I'm getting some Synaptics errors, as you can see in Xorg log. Does this have to do with kernel, or device, or has to do with the DE?
[ 1271.090] (EE) event4 - AT Translated Set 2 keyboard: client bug: event processing lagging behind by 18ms, your system is too slow Same happens with the default laptop's keyboard too in lock screen when I started typing the password to unlock. Maybe has to do with kwin and not plasmashell? Maybe related with the Nvidia driver? With Nouveau things are much worst. (Nvidia 9300 M GS)
Is this bug still a problem for you with Plasma 5.27? > I'm getting some Synaptics errors, as you can see in Xorg log. Does this have to do with kernel, or device, or has to do with the DE? It sounds like it could be a driver issue. If you still have this bug, consider switching to libinput drivers since Synaptics is no longer maintained.
