Description medin 2021-03-12 19:58:54 UTC
If I want to remove a widget that I installed, I should right click on desktop then select "Add Widgets", this is not intuitive approach for a desktop to manage the uninstallation process of a widget because it's not easier to find for first time by average user. There should another entry into launcher that facilitate access to the widget explorer and should be given an expressive name instead of "Add Widgets" because adding a widget is only a function that's provided by it.

You can also remove widgets using Discover.

In fact, Discover can't be used as complete package manager on Arch based distros due to lack of AUR support which is critical to install necessary apps. In Manjaro I use Pamac but it doesn't show any manually installed widget.

Sure, but you can use it to manage your non-app content if you want.

What if we name it "Manage Widgets"? we would need to change it's icon and I couldn't find a nice one...
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2021-07-26 15:09:12 UTC
We use the text "Uninstall or manage..." for the menu item in Kickoff that will open Discover. Maybe we could use "Add or view widgets"?

Another solution could be to add another menu item named "Remove widgets" that could open the widget explorer with the "uninstallable" filter.
