SUMMARY I'm recording our daily meetings. I use SimpleScreenRecorder. If I mute my microphone, no sound is being recorded at all. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open any video chat in a browser. 2. Be sure the microphone icon has appeared. 3. Start video capturing the screen with the sound. 4. Mute the mike and wait a little. 5. Stop recording and replay it. OBSERVED RESULT There is no sound after the mike is off. EXPECTED RESULT The sound must be recorded. Since the video's sound is being played through the speakers, the microphone is being used to record it, so muting it prevents this from working. What I think you want to do here is pass the computer's own sound output into the recording app as an input, internally, without using the speakers at all. That will allow you to mute your computer's microphone, but have the recording app still "hear" sound from the video.
