STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. have System Monitor widgets on desktop 2. boot your machine 3. start Wayland session 4. logout 5. immediately start Wayland session again OBSERVED RESULT Wayland session takes almost 2 minutes to start and when my desktop finally loads, System Monitor sensors are not working. If this problem does not occur, repeat the steps 4 and 5 above, at some point the System Monitor sensors will fail. Please compare the attached screenshots taken before and after re-login. Having the output of "kstatsviewer --list" may help, at least we'd be able to determine if it's ksystemstats failing or something else. Normally speaking ksystemstats should be launched automatically through D-Bus, I wonder if something's going wrong there.

I can't reproduce the problem with sensors using default startup system. But plasmashell failed to start on my system after 5 re-logins to Wayland session. I was able to restart plasmashell running "plasmashell --replace" with krunner but it crashed again every time when my desktop appeared on the screen. Apparenyly plasmashell was crashing in loop.

I checked that we close ksystemstats on logout, which means I'm out of ideas. We know it starts when dbus-activated for the test. Which means we're out of any productive clues. To proceed we will need a dbus-monitor log from login to the bug being visible.
could anyone provide instructions to get the log requested in the comment 15 please?
Put #!/bin/sh dbus-monitor --pcap > /tmp/dbus-log & in /etc/X11/Xsession.d and make it executable That will create a file in /tmp/dbus-log Not that this file might contain lots of other information, so you might want to just ping me on IRC/whatever and take some screenshots from Bustle filtering ksystemstats
