I had expected that the software will NOT touch the physical files. But with the trash, they get moved or even deleted from the disk. I suggest that the "move to trash" is just a "remove db entry from Album/DB" or a "mark as deleted = do not show" by default. Similar to Lightroom where I can select to remove from collection only, or physically delete the file.
It's a strange concept. A trash is a trash , as the desktop one. files are moved inside, and file are deleted definitively when user clean the trash. So, i'm not convinced by this idea... Gilles Caulier
Not move images into the trash that you no longer want to see is really a very strange concept. I can rather imagine that you want certain images to be "private" and that you want to hide them. We already have a bug report on this. Maik
And remember that digiKam try to be the most simple to use about file management. It use the disk file/folder hierarchies. By this way if we make trash item as virtual depending of a DB property, it's will be a hell for archiving and interoperability. I vote -1 for this feature... Note : if LR implement this strange feature, we are no force to code the same in DK. I will not jump through my window because Adobe ask to do it... Gilles Caulier
