Description Kishore Gopalakrishnan 2021-03-07 06:34:27 UTC
SUMMARY
After typing in a sticky note, I cannot 'remove' the cursor from it by simply clicking on a panel or an empty part of the desktop, or pressing 'esc'. I have to specifically click on another plasmoid (such as a folder view plasmoid; plasmoids in the panel apparently do not count).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a Sticky Note to the desktop
2. Type something in the sticky note
3. Click on the panel
4. Click on an empty part of the desktop
5. Press 'esc'.

OBSERVED RESULT
The sticky note does not lose focus after steps 3, 4, and 5. The lack of any easy way to remove the cursor from the sticky note means that the cursor just stays there as long as I do not interact with any other plasmoid, and I sometimes end up typing in a sticky note when I meant to invoke krunner by typing on the desktop.

EXPECTED RESULT
The sticky note should lose focus at least after steps 4 and 5 (clicking on empty part of desktop or pressing 'esc')

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.79.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Kishore Gopalakrishnan 2021-03-07 06:53:26 UTC
To reproduce this, the desktop type (Right click > configure Desktop > Wallpaper > Layout) should be set to 'Desktop', not 'Folder View'. It loses focus after clicking on the desktop if the desktop type is set to 'folder view'.

Can confirm with Desktop and without Folder View.
