Description soredake 2021-03-06 16:36:15 UTC
SUMMARY
dolphin-plugins is very useful, for example git/dropbox integration and mount iso action, why not integrate it in main dolpin package so users can use it without installing another package?

Mount iso action is for example available by default in windows, without installing anything.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install dolphin
2. Oh no! There is no git/dolphin integration and mount iso action is available by default

OBSERVED RESULT
No git/dolphin integration and mount iso action is available by default.

EXPECTED RESULT
Ship plugins from dolphin-plugins package with main dolphin package.

In general I agree. In my opinion, separating this stuff out into a separate package just presents a hidden landmine for users who would want it to not get it without knowing why.

The last time I proposed something like this though, it didn't get a very positive reception. See https://phabricator.kde.org/T13631.

Let's continue the discussion there.
