It seems like it's an intended behavior, if the audio output disappear the audio should not be outputed on it anymore.

If you want the screen to stay on, you can disable automatic sleep in the battery widget.

there is a misunderstanding.
The problem is not that switching off the screen leads to switch off sound.
The problem is the screen must not be switched off when listening to an audio stream as when you play a video.

This problem occurs with :
- webkit in akregator
- Firefox
- Chrome

It's up to the application to request that the screen will not be turned off.

Firefox does exactly that when I use Spotify Web
Comment 4 Philippe ROUBACH 2021-03-08 11:51:27 UTC
I don't believe that FF, Chrome, webkit gets a bug. It's too much.

Perhaps FF, Chrome, webkit send the request and the request is not transmitted.

When power management is inhibited the applet displays that. Please check if this is the case for you

Today it works. Monitor is not switched off !

It seems this is a random phenomenon.

Yes I got "Firefox : audio playing" in "battery & brightness" applet.
