SUMMARY Ogg files crash kdenlive while m4a or mp3 files don't. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add ogg audio file to kdenlive, either by drag and drop or file picker. OBSERVED RESULT Kdenlive closes immediately after adding track. EXPECTED RESULT Kdenlive should not immediately close. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Tumbleweed (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.79.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am unable to reproduce with the files I have. Can you test if you can reproduce with the appimage? Which distro are you using? Can you share the file causing the crash?
Created attachment 136414 [details] console output of bug procedure I forgot to specify - I used the appimage and not the OS-specific version. I used it on openSUSE Tumbleweed. I tried the same procedure on Debian 10 and the appimage still crashes. Here is the link (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Erik_Satie_-_gymnopedies_-_la_1_ere._lent_et_douloureux.ogg) to the file I used. Any ogg file will crash kdenlive. I cannot upload it here because it is too large. I also attached a screenshot of the console output when adding the ogg file to kdenlive.
Created attachment 136416 [details] ogg in timeline I am unable to reproduce but have seen people talking about this elsewhere...
I tested it on Windows and with the AppImage (virtual machine with Lubuntu 20.04) 20.12.2: Drag/drop the file " Erik_Satie_-_gymnopedies_-_la_1_ere._lent_et_douloureux.ogg" into the timeline. Shorten it to 20 seconds. Render it out as MP3. No crash. I guess it's your openSUSE Tumbleweed. Try to upgrade to the latest version.
The crash also happens on Debian 10.
(In reply to norwegian_pancakes from comment #5) > The crash also happens on Debian 10. Are you able to reproduce this always? Can you run gdb or at least run Kdenlive from terminal to see the output? Does it happen with AppImage?
