I wonder if this is another case of the behavior changing if the libqalculate dependency is missing (or some other one).
I have the feeling it is just delayed a lot when I also have "Desktop Search" checked. I see a "busy" indicator on the right.
That might because the runner being delayed for ~400ms before it produces any results. That was fixed in https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/commit/5a2d973e046074ab25e414a68e8ff0fbf7fabd20. How long is the delay are describing?

The busy indicator just showed for about 25 seconds although the result of the calculation was shown immediately. Currently the calculation is not delayed, but since I do not use it that often, hard to say ...
