As a workaround I disabled Compositor and switched to GDM from SDDM.
Comment 2 Nate Graham 2021-03-20 20:32:49 UTC
If you re-enable compositing but still use GDM, does it break again, or stay working?
Comment 3 pauld 2021-03-20 21:26:16 UTC
Enabling Compositor breaks it, even with GDM.
Comment 4 Nate Graham 2021-03-21 02:22:43 UTC
Then GDM is unrelated. It doesn't make much sense anyway because we're talking about the *lock* screen anyway, not the *login* screen (both SDDM and GDM are login managers, not screen lockers). So you can restore SDDM.

Upgraded to KDE 5.21 on Fedora 34: same issue.
Comment 6 pauld 2021-05-12 16:51:20 UTC
Also, the issue appears only applicable when primary display switched to external monitor.
