SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 33 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.79.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Laptop Asus UX580 (Intel + Nvidia) 4K screen, nouveau driver.
As a workaround I disabled Compositor and switched to GDM from SDDM.
If you re-enable compositing but still use GDM, does it break again, or stay working?
Enabling Compositor breaks it, even with GDM.
Then GDM is unrelated. It doesn't make much sense anyway because we're talking about the *lock* screen anyway, not the *login* screen (both SDDM and GDM are login managers, not screen lockers). So you can restore SDDM.
Upgraded to KDE 5.21 on Fedora 34: same issue.
Also, the issue appears only applicable when primary display switched to external monitor.
This bug was reported against an outdated version of KWin. We have made many changes since the. If the issue persists in newer versions can you reopen the bug report updating the version number.
