SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.6
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.71.0
Qt Version: 5.12.7

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I can open the project file from the command line, but it also crashes when pressing Ctrl-End
While previously I could render the project by generating a render script and executing the render script from the command line that now also crashes with 'segmentation fault'.
I also tried to repeat the procedure above with older backup files. That also didn't work any more.

Thanks for the report! I can confirm the crash with your project file, if I try to use placeholder clips
Comment 2 Julius Künzel 2021-02-26 22:06:03 UTC
Hmm. It seems that my crash had a different cause that was not related to your file.

Do you remember what you changed the last time it worked? Any action that maybe corrupted the project (like change of the profile, import of a new clip,…)?
Comment 3 gerd.muncke 2021-02-27 19:53:57 UTC
The first time the crash in launching a project happened after I had saved and closed kdenlive. All that went without any problems. But I just can't recall what I specifically changed before I saved the project.
There is, however, a strange thing happening now. The crash occurs consistently when I start kdenlive and then try to open the project file.
I manage to open it when I start kdenlive from a command line with the project file as a parameter.

We fixed some project file opening crashes lately. Please test with the actual daily build to check if the crash still happens: https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kdenlive_Nightly_Appimage_Build/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/
