Display of settings for audio device

SUMMARY
Plasma 5.21 introduced new behaviour for the audio volume applet and access to the output device is moved to the system settings. It seams that not all output devices are listed or I'm missing the logic here. The change broke the work done in #353232

I have multiple output devices for my sound card. I can output to SPDIF or Analog. When I have SPDIF selected I have to go through system settings to switch to Analog and vice versa.

When Analog is active a small icon appears next to the label in the device tab, allowing me to switch between different profiles for Analog. When the SPDIF output is active no such setting is available.

EXPECTED RESULT
The device tab shows all output profiles for switching between different outputs.

In the attached screenshot I show the settings for the Analog in the drop-out in the plasma applet and the settings option available for my device.

I'm not sure what behaviour change in 5.21 you are referring to, nothing really changed in that regard.

Profiles (what you see in systemsettings) and Ports (what you see in the applet) are different things. The set of ports you see depends on your active profile. If more than one port is available for the active profile the applet allows you to switch between them. For as long as I remember it wasn't possible to switch profiles from the applet.

That actually is going to change with 5.22 and it will be possible to switch both profiles and ports from the applet

What changed for me is that I have to go through extra steps to change the output profile (I reconciled myself with that). As Analog presented my with the ports (I was unaware of the difference) I was expecting to see all profiles as I assumed I was looking at profiles as that is the label in the audio settings drop-down.

If 5.22 allows me to quickly switch from the applet I'm a happy camper. :-)

Yup, that was added in Bug 372562 for Plasma 5.22.
