Description notrealname 2021-02-25 21:37:30 UTC
SUMMARY
I have only tried UFW, but I am having issues with plasma-firewall using a standard user, if I try to change anything it does not ask for an admin password, so no changes are made. The only time it asks for an admin password is enabling and disabling the firewall.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. install plasma-firewall base ufw
2. use non-admin account to run settings
3. try adding firewall rule or and any admin required task

OBSERVED RESULT
cant change anything

EXPECTED RESULT
get a popup asking for admin password then firewall rule added

Hi, it isn't a bug, it's how the app is designed, it retains the session (password) for a few minutes or until user logout (it depends on if the authentication was made through polkit). Most of the main distros use polkit nowadays, probably the cache retention should be for something close to 15 minutes.
