Description Larsen 2021-02-25 15:10:39 UTC
SUMMARY
Double clicking a marker should open the edit dialog. This is not possible at the moment. Same for the timeline.
Comment 1 Julius Künzel 2021-04-08 21:11:45 UTC
The marker system changed slightly for 21.04 (coming soon). If you double click on the marker name in the timeline the edit dialog opens as requested. For the monitor overlayer this is not possible, but you can directly change the name by click (to set the cursor) and type… Does that fit to your needs? Please test as soon as 21.04 is out or try with the nightly build already now…

21.04 is out now please test (https://kdenlive.org/en/download/)

Sorry for the late response. Unfortunately, I cannot test this at the moment as kdenlive 21.04 keeps crashing on startup: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437047

Screenshot Clip Monitor

Timeline: Looks good

Clip Monitor: See screenshot
I tried clicking and typing at the red and green dots, but didn't manage to get any result. Nothing happened besides the playing position changing.
Comment 5 Julius Künzel 2021-05-14 11:33:34 UTC
You have to click on the purble overlay where "Marker" is written…
Comment 6 Larsen 2021-05-20 12:46:18 UTC
I'm unable to click on the marker:

- Video is stopped, not on marker position, mouse outside monitor, audio thumbnail not shown
- Hover over purple line: Timecode appears, audio appears
- Hover over timecode: audio disappears
- Click on timecode: Purple box on left hand side appears
- Move mouse to the left: Audio appears, purple box moves to the top of it
- Hover mouse over purple box: Moves to the bottom of audio, instantly moves to the top, and this repeats forever

Kdenlive 21.04.1

I fixed the flicker for 21.04.2 recently. In the meanwhile you can enable audio waveform to be shown permanent to avoid the flicker.
Comment 8 Larsen 2021-05-21 10:45:45 UTC
Ok, this is working for me. I'd prefer to be able to directly edit the marker in the lower part of the monitor overlay, though (less steps involved). As you stated, this is not possible, but no biggie =)
Comment 9 emohr 2021-05-21 13:11:31 UTC
Edit the marker in the clip monitor by clicking into the marker should be possible. I have it done lately with the nightly build.
Comment 10 Larsen 2021-05-22 17:15:08 UTC
No luck for me (nightly 21.07.70 on Windows). Are you referring to the marker above or below the audio waveform?

You have to move the playhead in the clip monitor to the marker with alt+arrow. Then you can click into the marker field for editing. Click into a marker with a preview to jump to this marker (see attached picture).
Comment 12 Larsen 2021-05-23 11:04:27 UTC
Ok, now I see the misunderstanding:
As I have written, I am referring to the lower part (below the wave form) where it is not possible (yellow in your example). Julius wrote in Comment 1 that this is not possible. Also as stated, it is possible in the upper part (above the wave form; purple in your example).
