KDE Frameworks Version: 5.74.0
Qt Version: 5.14.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is on a new laptop Dell i7-1165G7 - This laptop model number is certified by Cannonical
The laptop has around 16gb of memory
It is running a resonably vanilla fresh install of Kubuntu
If Falkon can't run, then it shouldn't take down my whole OS, so there may be 2 issues, one: Falkon has some issue with memory, second: nothing catches the situation
Comment 1 Juraj 2021-03-08 20:17:43 UTC
It never happened to me that Falkon caused any issues apart from eating memory and CPU resources.

Crashing the whole system can have many other causes.

I do not own your laptop, can you provide logs?
I am using adblock with many filters could it be related to some trackers, miners or ads hidden on that website?
Comment 2 Nicholas 2021-03-12 15:09:13 UTC
@Juraj thanks for your reply, I appreciate that you don't have my laptop, what logs would be most helpful?
Comment 3 Juraj 2021-03-12 17:29:27 UTC
logs, well try to launch Falkon from terminal to get logs from it.
If anything else crashes (like X) maybe also that.
I cannot promise I will be able to find a cause.
I would be wise to check the state of you memory and cpu utilization at the moment of an error.

This behaviou looks to me like the whole Io was taken by falkon/qtwebengine, or that you ran out of memory.
