SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a .tiff file to be indexed.
2. check if tags work
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
The tag categories will be listed but the folders will be empty.

Balooctl can be used to force it index files manually allowing you to see tags but it will have to be done again after restarting. Adding *.tiff to the excluded list solves this.

EXPECTED RESULT
Ether index .tiff files or not crash if it can't.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Stefan Brüns 2021-02-21 18:53:55 UTC
Thats just unrelated warnings, not a crash. Provide a proper backtrace.
Comment 2 tagwerk19 2021-02-22 09:05:49 UTC
I don't think there's a problem with .tiff's 'as such', I have some TIFF files indexed.

You can list the tags embedded in a .tiff with 'exiftool'

You can see info that baloo has extracted with 'balooshow -x' (although I'm guessing there's more...) and do a search from the command line with baloosearch.

Not sure what your "... but the folders will be empty" means here, which application are you using?
