Created attachment 136019 [details] CLI errors SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add a .tiff file to be indexed. 2. check if tags work 3. OBSERVED RESULT The tag categories will be listed but the folders will be empty. Balooctl can be used to force it index files manually allowing you to see tags but it will have to be done again after restarting. Adding *.tiff to the excluded list solves this. EXPECTED RESULT Ether index .tiff files or not crash if it can't. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Artix Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.79.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.10.16-1-lts OS Type: 64-bit Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-3550 CPU @ 3.30GHz Memory: 7.7 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: GeForce GTX 670/PCIe/SSE2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Thats just unrelated warnings, not a crash. Provide a proper backtrace.
I don't think there's a problem with .tiff's 'as such', I have some TIFF files indexed. You can list the tags embedded in a .tiff with 'exiftool' You can see info that baloo has extracted with 'balooshow -x' (although I'm guessing there's more...) and do a search from the command line with baloosearch. Not sure what your "... but the folders will be empty" means here, which application are you using?
