I have visited https://de.webcamtests.com/ but my webcam is not recognized. The webcam works with Guvcview and VLC. With Cheese (uses GStreamer) it works if you specify GST_V4L2_USE_LIBV4L2=1 (default under OpenSUSE). > lsusb Bus 006 Device 002: ID 093a:2600 Pixart Imaging, Inc. My camera works fine with Falkon and that site, so Falkon does have webcam support in principle
The question is what backend Falcon uses for webcam support. I have an old USB webcam which f.i. isn´t supported by the Chromium browser either. Otherwise the webcam seems to be supported well under Linux.
Falkon uses Chromium internally, so if it doesn't work there it won't work in Falkon either. There's nothing Falkon can do then
Is Falkon just a re-brand of Chromium? I shought it would have its own web rendering engine based on KHTML?
Falkon is based on QtWebEngine, which is based on Chromium. It has its own UI, but the web stuff is all handled by Chromium
Thx for the info. I have now posted a report at https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/180810230 .
