Open more than two windows 2. press alt+tab 3. you switch not (always) to the previously highlighted window, but (often) to another window randomly, regardless which window was focused previously OBSERVED RESULT a random behavior, without logic: you are moved to a window you don't need to focus on, instead of the one you need. EXPECTED RESULT quick switching between the two most important windows I am working on. Do any of the windows you don't want to switch to happen to be minimized? If so, heavily related to Bug 427840.
Uhm ... no, I don't think so. This bug is regardless from windows minimization or not. And it begins only 7/8 days ago or so.
This bug is really annoying: I can't walk anymore with tab+alt, but with the mouse, and many times between librewriter and okular. Therefore, until you find a way to fix it, couldn't you kindly suggest a temporarily workaround (if possible)?
I can't reproduce the problem, so I have no idea what might be going wrong or how to work around it.
Indeed this strange behavior is not regular, so to say, it's rather something random: it can happen that you have the right behavior many times, but sooner or later it happens that begin the malfunction. I noticed because I walk, for my work, always between *two apps*, LibreWriter and Okular, for hours (with other apps open, such as TB or Dolphin, or FF), otherwise, walking in equal measure between many apps, maybe I wouldn't notice it. But I'm sure that it's something new: before 15 feb 2021 or so, it there wasn't.
This bug was reported against an outdated version of KWin. We have made many changes since the. If the issue persists in newer versions can you reopen the bug report updating the version number.
