Created attachment 135921 [details] video SUMMARY When an image is copied in other applications, such as Dolphin and Gwenview, a thumbnail of the image is displayed on Klipper and can be accessed again later. This is not the case with Spectacle (see attachment). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Capture a screenshot and copy it to the clipboard OBSERVED RESULT The images are not saved in Klipper (at least not properly) and cannot be accessed again if something else is copied. EXPECTED RESULT Access the image in the same way that is possible when copied in other programs SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.79.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.11.0-arch1-1 OS Type: 64-bit Graphics Platform: X11 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 1. If a screenshot from spectacle is copied to a location, a dialog box appears to enter the filename, but for those images that display correctly in klipper, this does not happen (obviously). Maybe they have to be saved in some temporary location to be displayed correctly? 2. Besides this problem with Klipper, it is possible to copy the image in other places such as Telegram.

I can reproduce this issue on both 5.25.3 and master. Possibly related Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/w78dq1/where_was_the_option_to_enable_image_thumbnails/
Sorry, I meant I can reproduce this on Plasma 5.25.3 with Spectacle 22.04.1 and master.
I could not reproduce this with default Clipboard/Klipper widget settings. In the Clipboard/Klipper widget settings, do you have the setting "Non-text selection: Never save in history"? If so, that would be the cause of this issue.
