Description Hartmut 2021-02-18 14:44:22 UTC
I select images and type Ctrl-X. I go to Dolphin ore Gwenview, where a folder is shown and type CTRL-V. The images appear within that folder and I can work with them. If I go back to Digikam, those files seem to be still there, the overview shows them, but I can not work with them.

That was not this way in a Digikam-version before. I worked until yesterday with Opensuse Leap 15.1 and made an upgrade and with this I got a new version of Digikam.

EXPECTED RESULT: If I cut anything anywhere, those items should disappear here if I insert them there.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The problem is that with this action Dolphin move the image and digiKam does not receive any information about it. The only thing you can do is to activate the album monitoring in digiKam, then digiKam will notice the change. But there are also reasons not to activate the album monitoring (collection settings). You have to decide how important it is to you. The album can also be updated quickly manually with CTR + F5.

Then why did it work with the former version?
Comment 3 Maik Qualmann 2021-02-18 19:37:46 UTC
In older digiKam versions the album monitoring for external changes was always activated. Album monitoring is now optional and deactivated by default, as it also causes major problems under MacOS and Windows and most users do not need it. But even under Linux, depending on the number of albums, it can consume a lot of system resources. Activate the option, and everything is as before for you.

Ok, thanks for the hint. I have more than 80.000 images and the monitoring takes a maximum of 5 seconds.
