Hi
Search with Digikam is powerful but it takes lot of time if you do many searches. Digikam lacks a simple and indispensable function: right click on icon directory -> search for image name in the *current* album. This feature is available in some file managers, it saves a lot of time.
Greetings

Hmm, in principle it would be a filter for the current view. And this already exists there in the right sidebar. In the text line you can enter a name or part of a name and the corresponding images will be displayed.

If you mean "find item" in "advanced search", "current view" doesn't exist. I see only "search items located" in "albums", with a default choice "any album" or other albums. The default choice comes back after each search. Anyway, this search method is too slow for production, it can't replace a quick search in current directory/album.
Example: I use everyday Midnight Commander, a console file manager. I launch it in a console, navigate in directories with keyboard, go to specific image directory, then in this current directory F9 -> find a file. A dialog box appears i can choose options and these options are saved automatically. After searching, if i do a new search, i don't have to modify settings again, i just have to say "OK". It's very simple, it works fine like that since twenty years, at least !

I'm talking about the filter in the right sidebar. There is a text filter at the top.

Great, exactly what I need. I think I have to better explore Digikam functions. Sorry for the noise...
