SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go in Help>Switch Application Language...
2. Change to any Primary Language
3. Restart

OBSERVED RESULT
Kdenlive will stay in english, ever.

EXPECTED RESULT
The language change should be applied

Yes there is a problem, for now the only way to switch language is setting environment variable : "export LC_ALL=$LANG" (what is done in AppImage startup script)

archlinux Chinese environment, set /etc/locale.gen to open only zh_CN.UTF-8. UTF-8 cannot set Chinese. After all zh encoding is enabled, Chinese can be displayed, but video files with Chinese names cannot be imported.

This should be solved with version 20.12.2 please check with the AppImage https://download.kde.org/stable/kdenlive/20.12/linux/
