Description James Funk 2021-01-27 17:30:33 UTC
SUMMARY

I set the "Process Table" tab to update to update at 5 second intervals. But, the "download" and "upload" columns update more frequently than this. It looks like they are being updated about twice per second.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Open KSysGuard, a.k.a. KDE System Monitor
2. Click on "Process Table" tab.
3. If the "Download" or "Upload" columns are not shown, click on the column header bar, and select them to be shown.
4. From the menu bar, click "View" then "Tab Properties." Set the update interval to 3 or more seconds. Click "OK".
5. Start downloading something.
6. To make it easier to watch, click the "Download" column header. This will sort the table by the values in the "Download" column, either ascending or descending.

OBSERVED RESULT

The values in the "upload" and "download" column are updated more frequently than the set update interval.

EXPECTED RESULT

The numbers in the column should be updated at an interval determined by the value I set.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Operating System: Kubuntu 20.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.8

OS Type: 64-bit

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I didn't see these columns on previous versions of KSysGuard I used. I'm happy that they are now available. 😊

ksysguard is no longer maintained, in Plasma 6 there is the Plasma system monitor for this task.

If your issue still happens with the Plasma 6 replacement, please re-open and we can move this bug to the new product, thanks!
