Created attachment 135208 [details] Both screenshots are of same PDF (STDU viewer above and Okular below). Okular display quality is bad in comparison. SUMMARY The (pdf) file appear very distorted when viewed on an extended display, when compared with results from same file using another ebook reader (STDU reader). See attached images for comparison. The pdf appears fine on my primary laptop screen. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use an extended screen on windows, using HDMI to VGA converter. 2. Open any pdf file using Okular and another software (STDU viewer). 3. View and compare the same PDF using both the applications on the extended screen. OBSERVED RESULT The pdf viewed using Okular appears of lower quality (resolution) when compared with output from STDU viewer. EXPECTED RESULT Since same file is being viewed using different software, the visuals should be of the same quality (resolution) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION My secondary display (1280x720) is of slightly lower resolution than my primary laptop display (1920x1080). I am using HDMI to VGA converter to extend the display. My secondary display monitor is quite old (purchased in 2013).
I have seen this issue a few times on my Linux machine, but not in a reproducible way. I've always blamed it on the fact that I use screen scaling. Do you do that?
@oliversander Exactly. I was using 125% scaling. When I turned it to 100%, the problem got fixed. I think I did not notice this problem on my laptop primary screen because of its higher resolution. Thanks a ton! Now I can finally use Okular on both screens.
