Created attachment 135185 [details]
example folder structure for 1 of the directories to compare

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. set file comparison mode to Full analysis or Binary in the 'directory comparison' section
2. attempt to compare 3 folders, where the top-level folder has spaces in it
3. run process

You can use the attached directory for this: just duplicate this to 2 directories and them to B and C, and set A to an empty directory (it might also fail with a 2-dir comparison).

OBSERVED RESULT
Crash

EXPECTED RESULT
not crash

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Will fill in some more later. Spent hours trying to narrow down what this is caused by, so I'm a bit bushed.

I can reproduce this merely with adding a space to the name of folder that otherwise works. I noticed the sample contains a non-text file. The current expected behavior in this case would be not to attempt a comparison. If for some reason the file is still being processed that could be the reason for the data lose error. In any case I am unable to reproduce error in 1.9 given the provided information. Are you still able to reproduce it?
