I have met the same problem on my second screen when I'm using kwin+xorg, on Archlinux, Yakuake version 20.12.1.

As I mentioned above, I'm using xorg. P.S. I'm using Nvidia Xorg.
I can not reproduce this anymore. It does require some changes in yakuake which have landed. Given it is window positioning it is unlikely to be nvidia related. Can you confirm this works with a newer yakuake?

What release version are they expected in? I'm running Yakuake 21.12.2 and still see the window appear at centered vertically of my screen, rather than at the top of my screen.
I should additionally note, I'm on AMD hardware now... so I can't comment as to if there's any remaining nvidia specific issue. I don't see this appear at the top left of the screen, and haven't for a while, but it's still not "in the right spot."

Just checked KDE Neon and openSUSE Tumbleweed - issue can't be reproduced there. Actually it was packaging problem in Fedora. Fedora package has been built without KF5Wayland build dependency: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/yakuake/blob/rawhide/f/yakuake.spec. I'll make PR to fix it. Sorry for bothering you.
