In the first picture, I'm using Segoe UI. In the second one, Noto Sans.

SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to Settings > Fonts > Adjust all fonts 
2. Change the font
3. Run plasmashell --replace

OBSERVED RESULT


EXPECTED RESULT
Kick Off should not change its size.

Operating System: KDE neon 5.20
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.78.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
So far, only Noto Sans makes KickOff to display the default size

that's how plasma works in general

Per gridUnit docs:

Given the screen has an accurate DPI settings, it corresponds to the height of the font's boundingRect.
