Description Mark Wigzell 2021-01-23 05:16:08 UTC
SUMMARY
Kid3-qt v5.3.1

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Fail to pull window frame
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
The display loses its right hand pane, so only the files and directories are showing. I think the right hand pane just becomes pushed out to the side, or otherwise obscured. The setting can't be reset. It can't be retrieved through the GUI. What I did to fix: went to the config file under ~/.config/Kid3 and removed it.
I think the "bad" widths were being stored there.

EXPECTED RESULT
If window was not sized, nothing should happen to the qt columns and panes or there should be a way to recover through the gui.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux (4.15.0) Mint 19.1
Qt Version: 5.9.5

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Mark Wigzell 2021-01-23 05:18:14 UTC
Perhaps a mention in the manual about where is the config file and how to clear it to defaults.
Comment 2 Urs Fleisch 2021-01-23 06:51:27 UTC
I am not able to reproduce this. There is a splitter between the left and right hand panes, and you can drag its handle even after having it pulled as far to the right as possible. In this case it is not so easy to get the handle, but (as far as I can see on KDE) there is a different mouse cursor when hovering over the window frame (a dot with left and right arrows) and when hovering over the splitter handle (a dot with left and right arrows), so it should be possible to recover from such a situation without editing or deleting the configuration file.

Hi Urs, well, maybe it was as you described, and I didn't notice the cursor
left/right arrows when hovering over the window frame.
So lets say "yes, you can recover from it". Still, would be nice to have a
way to "reset" the default layout from the menu system. This way dolts like
me can find an alternate way to "fix" than to remove the configuration
file.
At any rate, let me compliment you on a great application, I used it to tag
about 2000 CDs, it is a great tool.
