Description Jack 2021-01-20 12:29:44 UTC
SUMMARY
Option --> General --> Program Features --> [tick box] "Show backend selection dialog" is borken. Despite having muPDF-GL installed (for instantenous rendreing
of pdfs, as opposed to slow Okular) while opening a PDF, Okular doesn't asks me which backend for rendering I would like to chose. Nothing happens. The setting for a backend chosing doesn't work at all.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
0. Install better/faster backend (e.g. muPDF-GL)
1. Tick the box "show backend selection dialog"
2. Open a PDF
3. Nothing happens, no dialog to chose better renderer.

Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.78.0
Qt Version: 5.12.2

There is only one backend for pdf files in Okular -- the poppler one. So there isn't really much to select.

Backend selection works just fine, here the backend selection if you try to open an EPS file with the bakend selection checkbox enabled

If you don't get it, i guess you didn't install that supposedly better backend corretly, your problem really.
