Text box before as appears before

SUMMARY
Okular fails to handle text boxes created by other readers.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create some text box annotations in Adobe Reader
2. Load document with Okular
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Text box is initially displayed correctly. As soon as clicked though, text is rotated 90° clockwise and there's no way to get it back except discarding changes and reload the document

EXPECTED RESULT
text boxes created by okular behave correctly.

It would be much more helpful to have the file than screenshots.

Just my 2 cents.

here you are. keep it confidential if you can, please.
Comment 5 Yuri Chornoivan 2021-01-16 12:49:55 UTC
For the record,

1. The textbox is on page 13.
2. I cannot reproduce the bug with Okular 1.11.70/Poppler 20.12.0.
3. The file is not confidential now. We should contact our admins to remove it from the public view.

I've just remember sometimes it's necessary to also modify the content of the box to trigger the issue. Sometimes just opening it is enough.
I'm still able to reproduce it 100% times (tried 20 right now), poppler 0.90.0

It's not necessary. Maybe I've sounded too peremptory, I was just asking you to restrict file usage to this bug (no reuse, spreading etc.)

Demo (3 attempts)

You can see the aforementioned behaviour. These 3 times it required me to also modify the textbox, but I can confirm sometimes it's enough to just double click on it.

Personally i need to move it after editing, most probably not an Okular but a poppler bug, but needs someone with time to investigate

Original Not rotated

Original document not rotated. When placing a Note the orientation is correct

RotatedAndSaved
Comment 11 Martin 2021-06-16 12:15:26 UTC
It is also possible to reproduce using only Okular. When having a pdf (see Attachment "Original Not rotated") and rotating it and saving afterwards. When reopening the pdf it is still rotated. Now create a new note and then the note is rotated as the original rotation (see Attachment "RotatedAndSaved").
